From bulk glass to high-precision optical components and systems

1965 - WZW-OPTIK is founded by Willi Weder, Sr. The company's first products are optics for cameras and microscopes.  

1995 - Willi Weder, Jr. assumes the company's leadership

1998 - First quality management accreditation ISO 9002

2001 - WZW-OPTIK is certified according to ISO 9001:2000 

2006 - The company moves into a new, 3,000 sq.m. building. Installation of a magneto-rheological polishing machine (MRF) commences soon after 

2007 - Two 36" plan polishing machines for high-end optical systems are installed 

2008 - The clean room is upgraded in order to acheive the highest-precision finishing

2009 - Development and expansion of machinery for sub-angstrom polishing 

2010 - The assembly capacity is increased for opto-mechanical components

2010 - The company is certified according to ISO 9001:2008 

2011 - Super polishing capacity is doubled 

2013 - Additional investments in a goniometer and a digital measuring microscope for the metrology department 

2014 - Further investment in metrology, Laser Scanning Microscope LEXT OLS4100 with 10 nanometer resolution. 

2015 - WZW takes delivery of 3D measurement devise, The new Hexagon Optiv Performance 443 capable of both contact-less and tactile measurement procedures.

2015 - WZWOPTICAG is celebrating the 50th year anniversary 

2016 - The company is certified according to ISO 9001:2015
